Bring it on Monday

T minus 5 days until our new Tasting Room opens out at RR. Thus far my stress level has been manageable… meaning I only had two 10+ hour work days last week that ended in tears. (and in my defense, I probably shouldn’t have come home had a few glasses of wine and then watched the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy… I mean really, who wasn’t crying?) My boss likes to joke that as my stress level goes up, his goes down, and vice verca… so hopefully we end up balancing each other out in a mid state of contained panic/ chaos.  I’m ignoring the fact that the site is still a construction zone. I’m ignoring the fact that there isn’t a bar installed, I’m ignoring the fact that the tile in the bathroom looks like it should be in a public pool  (I’m not allowed to be stressed about that, because my boss actually picked it… he and his wife love it… it makes no sense but they love it… and I’m just glad there is tile in the bathroom). Instead, I’m ignoring the fact that the new staff has yet to be trained…

At least I’m pretending to ignore it. I might be able to externally keep my cool, but as the stress level begins to rise, my body begins to deteriorate. The first sign, itchy skin… the next thing I know, I’m an eczema lizard skinned mess (sorry for that visual) and then on comes the break outs… zitty and scaley… yeah I’m pretty much a hot mess. At least I’m aware of the fact and I can maybe over compensate with things like lipstick… My dad is constantly telling me that he gave up stress when he was 26… I know I should do the same, but its easier said than done. But in the face of the chaos, I am trying to take more deep breaths, and plan my week in a way that will help me stay sane. I’m going to get up early, and go to bed at a decent hour. I’m going to drink a lot of water (and probably a lot of coffee… and realistically a lot of wine… ) I’m going to take some time for daily meditation, I’m going to spend less time on facebook, and more time walking/playing/ snuggling with the dog. I’m going to eat a lot of vegetables, take my vitamins and powerslam life. I’m going to take a yoga class… and hopefully go for a few runs. And if all else fails… at least I’m going on vacation next week!

Bring it on Monday. I’m ready.
